About
WHOISPOLA is a gallery run since 2022 by visual artist Anna Molska and art historian Patrick Komorowski. It focuses on a younger generation of artists born in the 1990s and 2000s, offering them theoretical and production support, thereby providing emerging artists with the conditions necessary for the professionalization of their practice. The program includes group exhibitions, duo presentations, and showcases of both Polish and international artists interested in local culture, as well as figures who, after 1970, influenced the development of the language of Polish contemporary art. Particular attention is given to ephemeral art forms such as performance, as well as oral modes of mediation that foster relationships between artworks and audiences. The gallery’s group exhibition projects are developed as fully fledged curatorial proposals, emerging through dialogue between artistic practices and current socio-cultural issues. The gallery seeks to find a balance between the global circulation of art and local rootedness, treating the context of place as a crucial space for dialogue. Exhibitions are complemented by critical texts written by curators, critics, and art historians working on both national and international levels.
